Transform your daily life with our guide to the perfect knit.
For a knit that remains soft, fluffy and comforting, follow our advice:
Step 1: washing
Hand washing is preferred for the maintenance of your knitwear. It is done with cold water. You can use a special liquid wool detergent.
The garment should be washed gently and without pulling the stitch so as not to deform it. Do not let your cashmere piece soak for more than a few minutes to avoid felting. Rinse gently, without ever wringing.
Machine washing is possible under certain conditions: check that your machine has an effective cold wool program, with very gentle spinning.
Step 2: drying
We recommend drying flat, on a towel and on a flat surface. Don't forget to fold the sleeves so they don't loosen.
Systematically avoid pulling the stitch, even slightly, and keep in mind that the shape given before drying will remain the same once dry.
Step 3: ironing
Ironing is not necessary if washing and drying have been carried out correctly.
If you nevertheless want to iron your piece, take all the necessary precautions:
- Very gentle ironing on the reverse side
- Do not press or crush the mesh
- Use a pattemouille
Pilling is caused by excess material, washing will help remove it. If there are many of them, you can use a cashmere comb: lay your sweater flat, gently stretch the material and comb your sweater from top to bottom.
