Silk satin is a noble and elegant material, it expresses refinement and must be maintained with care.
For our pieces, we use 19 momme silk satin for a large part of our lingerie-to-wear creations. It is a precious, high-quality silk, rarely used in lingerie due to its high cost, but its thickness offers sublime softness and suppleness for an unparalleled fit that you won't be able to do without.
To keep your Marjolaine pieces as long as possible, we advise you to maintain them with care and always wash them cold.
Step 1: washing
Silk becomes fragile once wet: we therefore recommend hand washing in cold water.
Be careful not to leave your clothing soaking for too long - 3 to 5 minutes is enough.
Machine washing is possible when the care label indicates so. Certain conditions must be respected: use the "hand wash in cold water" program and wash your garment with other items to prevent the machine drum from damaging it. If you do not have such a program on your machine…. don't take the risk of damaging it and opt for hand washing.
Step 2: drying
Dry your garment without wringing it. We recommend carefully wrapping your piece in a towel and pressing gently to remove excess water before drying. Then hang your item on a hanger in the open air and without direct exposure to the sun, it could damage the silk fiber and cause it to lose its colors.
Step 3: ironing
Iron your garment while still damp, inside out. If it is already dry, you can use a damp cloth between your iron and the garment. Set your iron to a low temperature and do not use steam. We can never say it enough: silk and heat do not go well together!
